Day 2: Nairobi - Masai Mara
Sit back and relax during this flight from Nairobi to Masai Mara today. The flight duration is approximately 45 min.
While at Rekero you will be on full board accommodation, which includes all of your meals, all drinks (except champagne, cellar wines, premium brand spirits), laundry service, scheduled open vehicle game drives, transfers to/from the airstrip.
Accommodation: Rekero Camp
Rekero Camp lies in the heart of Kenya’s Masai Mara, which plays host not only to an extraordinary concentration and diversity of wildlife but one of nature’s greatest spectacles: the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra across the Serengeti eco system. From a small eight tent camp on a shady bank of the Talek River you are in the heart of a plain which sees much of the wildlife action. In our camp you are in the care of the natural guardians of this fine wilderness and those born and raised on these plains.
Day 3: Masai Mara
The camp is perfectly located to experience every aspect of this wilderness. Wildlife viewing and bird watching can be done by specially adapted vehicle or outside the park on foot. With both you are in the company of experienced Il Dorobo and Masai guides who can share with you, through their eyes, a world that only they know. This can be a full day in the bush or shorter excursions returning to the calm of camp. The cultural aspect is one of the strongest elements of the experience either in camp or with a visit to one of the villages from which our guides come from. This is a highly personal experience which we operate sensitively to ensure it remains both unobtrusive and genuine. Picnics in the bush and sun downers also feature along with dawn flights in a hot air balloon (balloon at extra cost). For those that want to take it easier we have a number of regular wildlife individuals who share this bank of the river. These include the small and large the feathered and the furred (including The Brigadier’ who is an elderly male buffalo who guards the entrance to camp) all of whom can be enjoyed at a safe distance from the comfort of the mess tent or on the river rocks below camp.
Day 4: Masai Mara
While at Rekero you'll spend your days as you like. You can choose to go on a morning game drive then relax for the afternoon before heading out for sundowners during your late afternoon drive.Accommodation: Rekero Camp
Day 5: Masai Mara - Serengeti
Today is a long day as you drive to the airstrip to catch your charter flight to Migori. You'll be met upon arrival and tranferred over the border into Tanzania. Be sure to have your passport, money for your visa along with your Yellow Fever Certificate handy. You'll continue on to Tarime where you'll board your charter flight to Serengeti.
Time spent at Olakira Camp is channelled into game drives and wildlife viewing. Whether the camp is on the Mara River or the Southern Plains of Ndutu, the aim is to get you as close into the thick of the action as possible. Game drives can be either half day or full day with a picnic bush lunch enjoyed overlooking the Serengeti plains.
Accommodation: Olakira Mobile CampOlakira Camp is a relaxed mobile tented camp of 6 guest tents and 2 common area tents, located on the Mara River in one of the most vied after areas of the extraordinary Serengeti National Park. 'Olakira' means 'star' in Maasai, and this one definitely shines. The spaciousness and comfort of the camp is added to when one dines in the vast expanse of these plains, with their meals lit up by the sparkly sky above. The days are eventful with game drives and activities, while others look forward to the magic of the night, where storytelling and fire light mix as travellers share tales of their adventures.
Day 6: Serengeti
Game drives from Olakira have a variety of diverse areas to enjoy: The crocodile and hippo infested waters of the Mara River, the unexplored bush of Bolongonja, and the vast plains of Lobo and Wogakuria. With very few other camps in these areas, Olakira manages to retain a sense of exclusivity, key to its mobile bush camp ideals. In June, the leading herds of topi and eland are usually starting to make their way north from the Western Corridor and Central Plains. Gradually the herds of zebra and wildebeest, which have been spread out over these areas, head towards the Mara River and begin to accumulate on the surrounding plains. Olakira Camp is soon caught up in the midst of the action as 1.5 million mammals begin to cross back and forth through the treacherous waters of the Mara River. Olakira in the South As the Migration answers its age old call and begin to move south, so Olakira Camp holds true to its migratory nature. The camp is closed during the month of November when it is packed up and moved to the great Southern Plains of the Serengeti. Between December and March the camp positions itself east of Ndutu, just inside the border of the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area (NCCA). From here game drives can venture south within the NCCA, or cross the border to explore the Southern Serengeti. Each year the herds of wildebeest and zebra return to these nutrient rich grasslands to give birth, followed closely by a multitude of predators. Situated in the shade of a small forest, the camp overlooks a seasonal stream and the vast plains beyond. The Southern Serengeti can get quite busy during this period, but Olakira has managed to establish itself in a very private area immersed in the heart of the action. "You cannot get more in the thick of things than at Olakira Camp"
Day 7: Serengeti - Manyara - Ngorongoro
Take your flight from Serengeti to Manayara today. The flight duration is approximately 1.5 hr. Dep 10h30 - 12h00

Become enveloped by the 14 precious farm cottages, each oozing genuine character and recently renovated to perfection.
Day 8: Ngorongoro
You'll drive approximately 20 minutes from your camp or lodge to the main gates of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. There are only three roads that connect the crater rim with the crater floor, one for driving down, one for driving up and another that goes both ways. The crater is roughly 20 km/12 mi wide and 600 m/2,000 ft deep, once you've reached the top of the caldera it takes about 45 minutes to descend to the crater floor. The floor is home to a rich and highly concentrated wildlife. Some 20,000 mammals live there, including about 20 black rhinoceros, making the crater the best place in Tanzania to see the rhino. The crater floor also has one of the highest carnivore densities in the world. Lions, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals are commonly seen, while leopards, servals and bat-eared foxes may be seen with some good luck. You'll spend most of the day in the crater.
